Situated in Wesley Vale on the North West Coast of Tasmania, on a property spanning 6 hectares of land, Blokker uses climate-controlled glasshouses spanning two hectares, for the reliable year-round growing of Freesias, Calla Lily and Dutch Iris. Leased land is also used for growing Freesia corms, Zantedeschia (Calla Lilly) for corms and flowers and Dutch Iris.
Weather wise, we have mild to warm summers and autumns with sea breezes during the day and cool nights.The winters are cool to cold but our property is virtually frost free, making the area one of the best locations in the world to grow Freesia. We enjoy a cool spring with plenty of wind for the wind turbine.
